Education:
*High School diploma or equivalent plus at least 5 years of demonstrated medical records experience or candidates who currently enrolled in an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a health related field or will be considered.
*Associate's or Bachelor's degree in health related field and/or registration as a Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
Experience:
*Prior healthcare or medical record experience preferred, especially in facilities having an electronic medical record system
*Experience with computer systems
*Knowledge of patient registration processes preferred
*Demonstrated experience in training or education of others is preferred
Skills/Abilities:
*Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
*Attention to detail
*High degree of accuracy
*Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills to find solutions to difficult problems
*Collaborative skills to effectively work in group problem solving and process improvement activities
*Demonstrated knowledge of computers, technology and automated work flow
*Collaborative skills to effectively work in group problem solving and process improvement activities
*Advanced customer service skills both in person and over the phone
*Demonstrated ability to work independently
*Demonstrated listening, interpersonal, and clarification skills in order to interact positively and productively with all customers
