Education:
* Completed sophomore year of college degree in pre-med, nursing, EMT/Paramedic, chemistry/biology or other professional or allied medical program.
* Course work in Organic Chemistry, Medical Terminology, and/or Human Anatomy and Physiology preferred.
* Intent to apply to Medical School is preferred.
Experience:
* Experience working as a medical scribe is preferred.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology.
* Demonstrated experience working with medical providers and allied health professionals is helpful.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure in a critical environment and maintain attention to detail in order to accurately document the patient encounter.
* Demonstrated observation, listening, interpersonal, and clarification skills in order to interact positively and productively with team members and families.
* Demonstrated knowledge of computers and technology.
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
* Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated strong desire to learn.
* Demonstrated ability to type 50 wpm or greater.
* Successful completion of a personal statement that demonstrates ability to succinctly respond to questions with good sentence structure and punctuation with command of the English language.
* Successful completion of a dictated scribe report with few errors, accurate capture of information and correct sentence structure.
