License/Certification/Registration required:
* MNSure certification is required upon hire or obtained within 3 months of hire date.
Education:
* Associates degree. Bachelors preferred. Or five years patient access or financial counseling experience required.
Experience:
* Two years supervisory or leadership experience and
* Three to five years experience working in patient access (i.e. registration, scheduling, financial counseling, billing, or related field) or a high volume customer service environment.
* Experience with an electronic database (i.e. electronic medical record).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Knowledge of insurance products including government, commercial, and HMOs and the related registration requirements of each product.
* Knowledge of Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa Medicaid enrollment requirements and income qualifications and related processes.
* Ability to research, analyze and problem solve registration denials issues.
* Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills.
* Ability to be flexible and adaptable based on business needs.
* Extremely Detail oriented with critical thinking skills and technical aptitude.
* Excellent Time Management Skills.
* Ability to Coach, Mentor, or Lead staff through ever changing processes and policies.
* Excellent Organizational Skills.
* Experience with Service Recovery and Conflict Resolution.
* Self-motivated learner.
* Understanding of medical terminology, healthcare services provided in a hospital or clinic setting.
* Knowledge of Healthcare system process flow beginning with scheduling, including registration and upfront collections through billing follow-up and collection activity.
